Singpiration

Singspiration at First United Methodist, 12th and Maple in Lawrenceville, will be held on Sunday, Oct. 25 and will feature Jim Hague. Please take safety measures to attend. Hague works at the Lawrenceville Senior Citizens Center and is in charge of home meal deliveries. He was recently named a “Hometown Hero” by Modern Woodmen of America. Hague will sing while using tape accompaniment.

The service begins at 6 p.m. Cindy Wilson will emcee the service and lead the singing. Marilynn Costello will give the devotion. Lovell Baldwin will play the piano. The strings, with Jeannie Borden on cello; Susan Fischer on ukulele; and Esther Brumley on violin; will play for the Prelude and Hymns.

The Nov. 1 program will feature Trevor Murray, chaplain at Good Samaritan.

First and Pisgah Presbyterian

Harvey Bennett will be preaching at First Presbyterian, Bridgeport at the 9:30 a.m. service on Sunday, Oct. 25. Joyce Dillard will serve as liturgist. Ushers are Rick and Susan Darnold. Pisgah is invited to attend. Social distancing will be practiced and there is elevator access.

First Christian (Disciples of Christ)

Rev. Tom Akers will deliver the sermon entitled, “No Improvements Possible” based upon the scripture from Matthew 22:34-46 during the 10 a.m. service on Sunday, Oct. 25. The music will be led by Jonathan Clark. There is no greeter or extended session. Disposable communion cups should be picked up in the Narthex on the way to the pews. A plate will be on the same table for offering. Masks are optional and social distancing should be followed.

Central Christian

Morning worship begins at 9 a.m. on Sunday, Oct. 25 with Carson Root sharing the message. Children’s church is offered during the sermon time for children ages pre-kindergarten through the fifth grade. Sunday school begins at 10:15 a.m. with classes for all ages. Lawrenceville Free Methodist

A compline prayer will be on Facebook at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 22.

Morning worship will be held in-person and on Facebook Live at 9:30 a.m. on Sunday, Oct. 25. The church is encouraged to attend the Solemn Assembly on the west side of the courthouse square for music at 3:15 p.m. and a prayer service at 4 p.m.

Morning prayer will be held on Facebook at 6 a.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 27.

The Ladies Bible study will meet on Wednesday at 9:30 a.m. The FROG Kids and Plugged-in Youth will meet at 6:30 p.m. as long as in-person school remains in session.

St. Mary’s Episcopal, Robinson

Holy Eucharist will be held at 9 a.m. on Sunday, Oct. 25 with Bishop Daniel Martins officiating the in-person service. Masks and social distancing are required. The service will also be livestreamed on Facebook.

First Presbyterian

Dwayne Greene will be the guest speaker on Sunday, Oct. 25 at the 10:30 a.m. service. The radio broadcast is heard live at WAKO 910 AM and 99.3 FM. There is a staffed nursery during the service. Sunday school is at 9:30 a.m.

There will be hand sanitizer by the entrance and social distancing and masks are required. Song sheets in the bulletin will be used instead of pew hymnals. The liturgist for Sunday’s service is Sandy Diggs. Ushers are Kevin Ochs and Becky Ochs. The sound operator is Ann Agler. The organist is Jan Schultz.

Bridgeport Assembly of God

The message for the 10:30 a.m. service on Sunday, Oct. 25 is entitled, “The Burden of Faith” and is from the book of Habakkuk. This is a timely series about trusting in the Sovereignty of God in the midst of our chaotic world.

Bridgeport First UMC

Worship services begin at 9 a.m. in the sanctuary on Sunday, Oct. 25 with Pastor Deetta Gaither delivering the sermon entitled, “Please Read the Instructions” from I Thess. 5:14-21. Social distancing should be followed and masks should be used as designated.

The women’s Goal Digger’s Bible study meets on Tuesdays at 10 a.m. and the men’s fellowship meets on Wednesdays at 6 a.m. Both groups meet in the lower level of the church.

Petrolia UMC

New Hope Christian

A traditional service will be held at 8:30 a.m. on Sunday, Oct. 25. Fusion, a contemporary service, will be held at 10:45 a.m. The Fusion service is streamed live on the website at www.newhopegps.org.

Jim and Sue Schultz will serve for the traditional service. Herb Young will serve at the Lord’s Table. Lori and Briley Kocher will greet at the Fusion service. Chris Seed will share the communion meditation. Audra Caldwell (jr. helper, Jordan Shields) will be teaching Elevate Kids (first through third) and Whitney Mills (jr. helper, Emma Clodfelter) will be teaching Elevate Jr. Savannah Young will assist with check-in/check-out. Annastyn Weger will be in the nursery.

Evening services will be held at 6 p.m. The jr./sr. high youth group will meet in the youth house from 6-8 p.m.

The weekly prayer group will meet at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 28.

Clocks should be set back one hour on Sunday, Nov. 1.

Kingdom Builders will be held at New Hope on Monday, Nov. 2 at 7 p.m.

St. Francisville Free Methodist

Rev. Jeff Marble will bring the message entitled, “Scattered Seed” from the book of Mt. 13:1-23, Mark 5:1-25 and Luke 8:4-28 at the 10:30 a.m. service on Sunday, Oct. 25. Danny Hale will lead the singing and Virginia Berry will play the piano.

First Christian – Bridgeport

Helping His Hands is hosting a drive-through BBQ fundraiser on Saturday, Oct. 24 from 3:30-6 p.m. (IL time) at their location at 2011 Willow Street in Vincennes. For more information, call 812-494-2888.

The weekly Bible reading is from Luke 19 – John 12.

The message for the 9 a.m. service on Sunday, Oct. 25 is entitled, “Where is Your God?” and is based on the scriptures found in Psalm 115. Marvin Leighty will give the Call to Worship. Jim Meyer will present the communion and offering meditations. The worship service is broadcast live on WAKO 910 AM and 99.3 FM.

The James 1:27 Ministry will prepare a Thanksgiving dinner for the residents of the United Methodist Village apartments and cottages at noon on Saturday, Nov. 14.

Bridgeport Free Methodist

Services begin at 9 a.m. on Sunday, Oct. 25 with Pastor Adam Strauser bringing the message. Kingdom Harbor leaders will be Lois Earnst and Diana Pemberton. Kingdom Harbor is for children ages pre-kindergarten through the fourth grade.

There will be a community prayer and worship service at the Lawrenceville Courthouse from 4-6 p.m. Please bring your lawn chair.
